US Open doubles champion Jamie Murray will join the Champions Tennis line-up on Sunday 9 December. Teaming up with some of the greatest legends of the game, Murray will play in both the morning and evening doubles sessions on the event’s final day.
The evening session will also include the finale of the Peugeot Tennis Challenge where crowds will get to see the results of Peugeot Brand Ambassadors Judy and Jamie Murray’s coaching of Strictly Come Dancing star Anton du Beke and former Blue Peter Presenter Helen Skelton. Under the guidance of Judy and Jamie, the dancer and TV Presenter are currently preparing to compete in front of the animated crowds at the Royal Albert Hall.
Alongside Murray, who returns for his fourth appearance at Champions Tennis, organisers have confirmed today that former World No. 2 Tommy Haas will also join the line-up. Haas who only retired in March this year will make his debut at the Royal Albert Hall. Haas commented: “I have always wanted to play at Champions Tennis. Being able to play at the Royal Albert Hall will be a huge honour so I’m really excited.”
Murray and Haas will join other tennis legends, including Mark Philippoussis, Goran Ivanisevic, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Moya, Mansour Bahrami and Tim Henman, with more names soon to be announced.
Taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on 6 – 9 December 2018, Champions Tennis is the final event of the ATP Champions Tour and offers a four-day tournament full of fast-paced action and world-class tennis from the legends of the game, mixed with the usual tinge of humour.
The tournament, now in its 22nd year, is comprised of an afternoon and an evening session per day -with two scheduled matches per session; one competitive singles match and one entertaining doubles match.
