We are pleased to announce that former World No.2 and past Wimbledon Champion Goran Ivanisevic will return to Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall, taking place from Thursday 6th December – Sunday 9th December 2018. A crowd favourite, this will mark Ivanisevic’s 8thtime playing at the event in one of the UK’s most celebrated entertainment venues.
Goran Ivanisevic is best known for being the only person to win the men’s singles title at Wimbledon as a wildcard, a feat he achieved in 2001. After being greeted by nearly 200,000 fans upon return to his hometown of Split, he was crowned the BBC’s Overseas Sports Personality of the Year. He was consistently ranked amongst the best players of his generation during his playing career with his highest singles ranking reaching World No. 2 (behind Pete Sampras) in 1994. The big-serving Croat also boasts an impressive Davis Cup record with 20 wins and just 6 defeats to his name whilst representing Croatia between 1993 and 2005.
Goran Ivanisevic commented “I am delighted to be returning to the Royal Albert Hall for this year’s Champions Tennis. It’s such an honour to play at The Royal Albert Hall and I feel very lucky to have the chance to play in front of a great crowd in London.”
