Champions Tennis has announced their brand-new title partner, myWorld, which will see the tournament renamed to myWorld Champions Tennis.
myWorld, is an umbrella company for a huge range of famous brands and businesses. This portfolio currently includes the international Shopping Community Cashback World, the online marketplace myWorld.com, the social life app, eyetime, and the business’ own think tank, 360 Lab, the myWorld Media Group and its subsidiary companies, mediaWorld productions, sportsWorld and eventWorld.
The iconic tournament will return to London next week, on Thursday 28 November for four days of competitive and entertaining action. Some of the greatest stars of the game will take to the court, including 25-time Grand Slam Champion Martina Hingis, recently retired Marcos Baghdatis and David Ferrer, as well as crowd favourites Tim Henman and Mansour Bahrami.
This year’s tournament features an exciting new format, which will see players working together in three teams as they compete for the coveted myWorld Champions Tennis trophy. The teams will be led by Greg Rusedski, Tim Henman and Goran Ivanisevic, who will each be joined by two other legends. The team with the most wins will then be crowned champions following the ATP Champions Tour Final on the Sunday night.
Each day will be comprised of an afternoon and an evening session – with four matches per session; two competitive singles matches, one competitive doubles match and an entertaining exhibition doubles match. For tennis fans, it’s an exciting opportunity to watch their favourite players in iconic surroundings, making for a truly memorable experience. The competition will be fiercer than ever as fans can get involved in picking their favourite team and cheering on the players as they fight it out for the myWorld Champions Tennis trophy.
A host of other tennis legends will be hitting the court, including former world No.1 Juan Carlos Ferrero, Grand Slam finalist Mark Philippoussis, Tommy Haas and current British No.2 Heather Watson.
“Tennis has enjoyed increasing popularity in recent years. At the ATP Finals in London, we recently watched as the young, wild things wrestle to topple the 'Big Three' – tennis has never before been so exciting. As myWorld headquarters are based in London, the decision to set up a partnership with the iconic and prestigious Champions Tennis, was the next logical step. We look forward to working together and to many a gripping game between the sports legends of today”, explains Bettina Rieger, CEO myWorld Media Group, and Markus Stampfer, Co-Founder sportsWorld.
